The entire CDL offseason has ground to an unexpected halt, centered directly around LA Thieves.

Thomas "Scrap" Ernst, one of the market's premier targets, recently parted ways with his representation, and due to standard agency transition protocols he is legally barred from executing new contractual agreements until September 15.

This has effectively frozen the top end of the market, where Paco "HyDra" Rusiewiez and other prospective teammates are waiting on Scrap’s situation to clear before committing.

Meanwhile, reigning Rookie of the Year Jeremiah "Nium" Harrison has entered restricted free agency, vacating his spot on LA Thieves as the Thieves attempt to construct a superteam around Scrap and HyDra.

While LA’s roster seems mostly in limbo along with the rest of the league, OpTic Texas maintains the most stable foundation, running back its lineup of Shotzzy, Dashy, Huke, and Mercules.

Faze Vegas looks to make some moves even after winning Champs, while Riyadh Falcons attempt to rebuild after two successful top 5 finishes to end the BO7 season. And probably the biggest question with these two… where will rising star Alluka finally end up?

The biggest organizational shift comes out of Boston, where the Boston Breach franchise slot was officially acquired by M80. Entering the league as Activision’s updated revenue-sharing model takes hold, M80 is retaining contracted players like Spart, Purj, and TJHaLy while releasing Marcus "Afro" Reid into free agency.

And will Spacestation Gaming ever be able to establish their presence in CDL?

In summary, the mid-September representation clearance that unlocks Scrap's contract status will also trigger dominoes across the remaining top eight teams to start falling… Then, a rapid, hyper-condensed signing window will finally bring the 2026-2027 roster picture into focus.
